Special Events

The Cultural Arts & Special Events division is responsible for the activities that are not typically mainstream recreational activities. This division has dedicated itself to educating the public in matters concerning arts, history, and special events along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

 

This division has sponsored programs featuring the Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra "Sounds by the Sea" event, Sugarplum Saturday Christmas Parade and Event, Lynn Meadow Performing Arts, Mardi Gras Parade,along with many other events.The division also manages the Grass Lawn Historical Home located on U.S. 90 in Gulfport. This home was constructed in 1836, and its beautiful grounds are available for tours, weddings, luncheons, reunions, and other historical events.
